☞ Hi-Tech Joe Finds the Light on Quad

Picture

Far into the Galaxy lived a man named Joe, on the planet Quad in
the outer reaches of his Star System. Quad only received the light of the
sun  for 1/3 of the day...8 hours of Earth time. So, much of his life was spent in darkness, with only the twinkle of the stars and an occasional visit from the yearly cycled moon of Quad.
It was on one such Moonlit night that Joe found a strange book, as he
was walking around his yard. He wondered where it came from. Picking it up and opening it, he began to read about Jesus, for it was a Bible.
Within the pages of the book, he read of how a man named Jesus had came to a planet called Earth to die for the inhabitants, a fallen race destined for destruction. This man Jesus loved everyone in the whole  cosmos, and was crucified on a cross as a substitution for rebellion
throughout  the galaxy. He read how Jesus was Himself the light that inhabits the darkness  of the Universe.
That night changed his life forever. He decided there  on the spot that he wanted to make contact with this Jesus, wherever his home  station might be in the Universe.
Taking the Bible to his dark home,  Joe continued to explore the pages in every free moment he found, as light  permitted. Before long, he began to notice that his home was not as dark as it  had seemed at night. Then he realized that light was emanating from the pages of  the book itself as he read the words.
It was there in front of the  Bible one evening that Jesus spoke to Joe‘s heart.  “I am the light of the  world Joe. If you follow me, you shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the  light of life. You are from beneath heaven. I am from above. You are of this  world. I am not of this world. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of  the world. If any man walks in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the  light of this world. But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because there  is no light in him. While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be  one of the children of light.”
It seemed like the shape of a cross was  emblazoned in light, etched in the words as Jesus spoke from the burning pages  before him in the dark. This fire consumed him, and transformed him so much so  that his friends began to notice that he was “different.” He was happier, more  content. He whistled as he walked down the streets of Quad.
More than  that, Joe was becoming more successful in business. His work was in designing  Hi-Tech robotic systems from his home. He designed and shipped his electronics  around the planet Quad, where people were always eagerly waiting for more. The  problem had been that he couldn’t keep up with demand. But, now that had  changed. Since Joe had found this new light, he spent his time reading the  Bible, and working on his robotic systems until much later into the night. He  was able to double production very quickly, working by the light that lit his  home and his heart each evening when he read of Jesus.
One dark  Quadrile evening Joe was working diligently at his circuit
board when his  neighbor Bob pushed his car up the driveway in front of his house. With the last  of his strength he gave the car a shove in the dark, letting it roll the  final yard into the parking space, as he bent over panting to catch his  breath. Bob was so disheartened. He could barely see his own shoes on the  pavement and he was hungry since he was so late getting home for supper. His car  had broken down coming home from work, again! Now, here he had to push it home  in the dark.
Stretching himself to his full height, Bob noticed a  non-Quadrillic light glimmering across his neighbor Joe’s yard. That was  strange. There was not even a moon out tonight. Where was that light coming  from? In a few quick strides, Bob crept up to Joe’s front door and peered in the  window. He couldn’t believe the sight that met his eyes! The brightest light he  had ever seen, here in the middle of the dark night, in the outer reaches of his  Galactic darkness! How could that be? And, there was Joe, working away in the  warm glow of the light of God in his heart.
Hearing the sudden rap at  the door, Joe was startled from
his work, and looked up to see his neighbor’s  face pressed to the glass.
Opening the door, and brushing Bob quickly inside as  he closed the door behind him, Joe fumbled for words as he explained to his  friend all that had happened to him. And, there in the light that surrounded  them, one more dark heart was pierced by the Light of God.
Across the  Galaxy, here in our own Star
System, on our planet Earth, right here in our own  country, state, and
city...lives many such aliens of the Kingdom of God, who  have never heard of the love of Jesus.

Isaiah 6:8  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall
I send,  and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

*Author’s  Notes:
-I wrote this parable to teach the importance of evangelizing for the  Kingdom of God and sharing the Gospel.
-The words of Jesus are  taken from John chapters 8,9,11, and 12.
-Quad, Joe, and Bob are fictitious and are created to resemble
people on Earth who are struggling in the  darkness of their lives searching for the Light of God. The Bible calls  Christians strangers and aliens to this Earth. So, that would make  non-Christians aliens to the Kingdom of God. Where is your  citizenship? VH
